Record Player (big kids)

What? Your kid has never seen a turntable?

Turntable facts for your kid:

1. A proto turntable was invented by Thomas Edison in 1877.
2. The modern record player became popular in the 1920s and fell out of favor in the early 80s as CDs began to dominate.
3. Turntablism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating music using turntables.
4. The sound from a good turntable system and a clean record is still far superior to that produced by a CD.
5. The most expensive turntables can cost upwards of $150,000.
5. Turntables re-emerged in the 90s with the rise of hip hop and the DJ era but they never died amongst those of us who love music.

This is one of our most popular designs and is also available as a onesie for the tiny folks in your life and as a shirt for big kids.

Street Sweeper

By popular demand we've created a short sleeve version of our street sweeper shirt. It's fresh off the presses.

We created this shirt because when our boys hear the street sweeper approaching, cries of "STREET SWEEPER! Street sweeper! The window! The window!" ring through the house followed by the heavy beat of small feet to the window. Our kids loved this shirt and we hope yours will too.

Note in addition to the main image on the shirt features a smaller machine coming around the seam of the shirt.

We've been bike people as long as we remember. From our first tricycle, to our purple banana bikes, to the vintage 1954 J.C. Higgins we now covet, we love a good ride. We put this shirt together to inspire our kids to think about the world of wheeled possibility. Seems to be working!

Note these American Apparel tanks tops are a bit slim in the belly.

Cement Mixer and Flatbed

Cement was invented during the Roman Empire and was considered to be a military secret. When the empire collapsed, so did the secrets of making cement and 1300 years passed before it was rediscovered. Part of the secret of cement is that its ingredients have to be well mixed, and as long as they are being mixed, they don't solidify. So it was only a few years after the first cars rolled down the road that the first patent for a cement mixing truck was granted. A hundred and some odd years later we put one on a shirt because our kid's love 'em.

This shirt features a special flatbed pumper trailer that refills cement mixers with concrete ingredients.
